Frank Ferguson (observer)
Frank Ferguson has served as president of Curriculum Associates, Inc., a publisher
of instructional materials for elementary and middle schools, since he founded it
in 1969. Prior to CA, Frank served as president of several corporations, including
Bose Corp. (1969-1976). At various times in his career, he has been an infantry
soldier (13 months in post-war Japan, with a smattering of Japanese), a professional
cinematographer (6+ years in Turkey and Iran; still speaking a bit of Farsi and
loving Persian cuisine), and a national sales manager (Ealing Corp, 1960s). Frank
is an angel investor and member of the board of directors of EdNets, Inc., ZS Genetics,
and Roam Data Systems, Inc. Frank is a graduate of the Ames, Iowa, public schools
and the Greenlee School of Journalism, Iowa State University. He earned a Masters
degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Jean Hammond
Jean Hammond is an active angel investor usually focusing on early stage high tech
start-ups. Jean is a co-coordinator of the Boston branch of Golden Seeds (focused
on investing in women-managed businesses) and a member of Launchpad and Hub Angels.
Jean also serves on the boards of The Technology Capital Network and Thompson Island
Outward Bound. Jean is a serial entrepreneur with over 20 years experience in the
high-tech industry. Her entrepreneurial activities include managing JAM Technologies
as interim CEO. She founded Quarry Technologies with a core team from the BBN Technologies
SuperRouter project, serving as Quarry’s start-up CEO. Jean also co-founded AXON
Networks, a developer of network management applications. Following 3Com’s acquisition
of AXON, Jean was responsible for 3Com's WAN strategy. She earned an M.S. from the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School of Management, and a B.S. from
Boston University.

Edward Roberts
Ed Roberts is Founder and Chair of the MIT Entrepreneurship Center, and for over
30 years chaired the MIT Sloan School of Management's Management of Technological
Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group. He co-founded and co-chaired for nearly 20
years the mid-career MIT Management of Technology (MOT) Program. Over the past forty
years Ed has become internationally known for his research, teaching and active
involvement in many aspects of technology management, including technology strategy,
corporate venturing, product innovation management, and technology-based entrepreneurship.
He is a co-founder, board member and angel investor in many high-tech start-ups,
including Pugh-Roberts Associates (now a division of PA Consulting Group), Medical
Information Technology, Inc., Sohu.com, Inc., the Zero Stage Capital and First Stage
Capital Equity Funds, and, at present, Advanced Magnetics, Pegasystems, PR Restaurants,
Interactive Super Computers, and Visible Measures, Inc.. Ed has authored 160 articles
and eleven books, including Entrepreneurs in High-Technology: Lessons from MIT and
Beyond (Oxford University Press, 1991) which won the Association of American Publishers
Award for Outstanding Book in Business and Management. Ed holds an S.B. and S.M.
in electrical engineering from MIT, a Master's degree in Management (MBA) from the
MIT Sloan School of Management, and a Ph.D. in economics from MIT.

Dina Routhier
Dina Routhier has over ten years experience of investing in and financing technology
companies. She joined MTDC in 1999, and has been responsible for reviewing business
plans, interviewing entrepreneurs, identifying marketable technologies, making early-stage
equity investments and working closely with MTDC portfolio companies. Dina manages
an existing portfolio of seven companies – serving as a Director of five of those
companies (SiteScape, geoVue, Spectra Analysis, Polnox, and EdNets), and as an Observer/Advisor
to the other two (OwnerIQ, Tomophase). Prior to joining MTDC, from 1995 – 1999,
Dina managed a $400 million portfolio of loan commitments at Fleet National Bank
(now Bank of America). As a member of the Bank’s High Technology Division, she prospected,
structured and originated new debt facilities to start-up and established companies
operating with the technology and biotechnology industries. She came to Fleet National
Bank from JP Morgan & Co., Inc. in New York City. Dina earned her MBA from Boston
University and her Bachelor of Science in Management from Boston College.
